choriambusn. [L. choriambus, Gr. ; a choreus + iambus.].
     A foot consisting of four syllables, of which the first and last are long, and the other short (- ⌣ ⌣ -); that is, a choreus, or trochee, and an iambus united.  [1913 Webster]

choriambus, n. (pl. choriambi) Prosody a metrical foot consisting of two short (unstressed) syllables between two long (stressed) ones.
