box kite

 A kite, invented by Lawrence Hargrave, of Sydney, Australia, which consist of two light rectangular boxes, or cells open on two sides, and fastened together horizontally. Called also Hargrave kite, or cellular kite.  [Webster 1913 Suppl.]
