ajowann. [Prob. native name.].
     The fruit of Ammi Copticum, syn. Carum Ajowan, used both as a medicine and as a condiment. An oil containing thymol is extracted from it. Called also Javanee seed, Javanese seed, and ajava.  [Webster 1913 Suppl.]
